Feature Topic:
How to Treat Your Auditions Like You’ve Already Been Cast
A couple years ago, I nearly missed a callback for lead role that I really wanted to book. There had been some crossed wired and I never got the callback notice. Luckily, it got sorted and we rescheduled so I was ready.
I made one decision that changed everything that day:
I auditioned like I’d already been cast.
That mindset changed my career—and it can change yours too.
I made bold moves.
I took "risks".
(The real "risk" is not taking risks...boring!)
I made lead actor choices that got noticed and got me cast.
Everything about that callback had the energy of "I'm your lead. I'm your solution. Now let's collaborate and play."
Nothing about that callback ever felt like I was auditioning.
I was just playing the role like it was already mine.
Stop auditioning to “pass a test".
Stop asking "what do they want?".
Be BOLD and make a fucking CHOICE.
Pardon my francaise...but nobody has time for your insecurities and anxiety.
You want to be PAID to LEAD?
SHOW them you can LEAD.
Start treating every audition like you’ve already booked the role—and this is your chance to show the director what you’ll DO with it.
Use your personal creative power and make a bold move instead of walking on eggshells. #leadactorenergy
When you prepare fully and give it everything you’ve got, you can walk away knowing:
That was my best work right now.
I brought my unique point of view and strong choices.
If they want something different, that’s okay—because I’m not here to fit into someone else’s idea of who I am.
I. AM. ME. #leadactor
Lead Actors don’t audition to get picked.
They step up and demonstrate their ability to LEAD.
AAC Community Wins
Actors Audition Club hosted a 48 Hour Film Project team this weekend!
Huge shoutout to everyone involved.
Brandon Knox directed and I had a fun lil monologue cameo.
This wasn’t just a fun project—it was proof that when actors create, doors open. Are you just waiting or are you creating ?
Georgia Chase has made huge strides in her auditions and recently stepped up to some lead role opportunities. Georgia and I had some REAL convos about "being ready" for lead roles. Question: Are you REALLY lead-role ready? If all of your dreams came true tomorrow and you were cast in a lead role, are you ready to seize the opportunity? Let's Go!
DJ Demers booked a role from one of his AAC sessions! Sadly, he had to decline due to a schedule conflict, BUT a win is a win! He won the role! (Being fully booked up working is a good problem to have!)
Monologue Mastery Tip
“Audition like you’ve already been cast.”
This mindset not only relieves the pressure—it lets you bring your strongest, most authentic work into the room every single time.
(Want to workshop this in real time? Join this week’s Monologue Jam, Wednesday at 6pm ET)
Monologue Mastery Playbook Focus (Step 4: Perform & Film)
Every monologue you work on inside the Club follows this proven framework:
Choose Your 'Made For Me' Monologue
Text Analysis & Storytelling
Prepare & Rehearse
Perform & Film
Pro Tip: When you perform anywhere, imagine you're already on set on stage or in the actual place—not just in a casting room.
This instantly upgrades your energy, confidence, and authenticity.
Every time you film a monologue, you’re not just rehearsing—you’re showcasing yourself as a Lead Actor.
